Policies and Procedures

I will provide a safe and loving environment for your child in my home.  I will provide structure, discipline and nurturance close to what your child would receive at home.  I want your child’s experience in child care to be positive and most importantly, for your child to have fun.

I like to have an interview session before any child care arrangements are made.  At this initial visit, I meet the parents and child, ask questions, and I encourage parents to do the same.  I give parents a tour of the facility and a copy of my policies and procedures handbook to take home.  It is after this interview that arrangements can be made to complete paperwork.

I do charge a $35.00 registration fee that is non-refundable.  This will be due at the time that completed paperwork is turned in to me.  This will be done before the first day of child care begins.

Payment for child care will be agreed upon before child care is provided.  Payment is expected in full before child care is provided.

I charge $30.00 for all returned checks.

I will be closed for the following holidays. Alternative child care will need to be arranged for these days:

New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day.

Payment for child care is made to hold your child’s spot.  Payment will be expected in full for holidays and sick days.  These are paid days.

Parents will be asked to provide immunization and other health care information about their child, emergency contact numbers, a permission authorization form will need to be filled out, and a contract for payment will be signed.  After the above steps have been completed, child care may begin.

I operate this child care business with an open door policy.  I encourage parents to stop by any time during business hours and to call anytime with questions or concerns.

We will celebrate each child’s birthday.  Parents are more than welcome to bring a store-bought treat for this occasion, but it is not necessary. Please let me know beforehand, so enough treats will be provided for the amount of children in care that day.

We maintain a pet-free and smoke-free environment.

I discipline children with guidance and redirection.  No corporal punishment is practiced in my home.

I keep my home clean and sanitary at all times.  I sanitize surfaces like tables, highchairs and countertops after each use.  I vacuum and mop my floors every day.  Children’s toys are bleached on a weekly basis.  Bathrooms are cleaned/ sanitized daily.  I keep the kitchen and refrigerator clean and sanitary at all times.

I will provide each child of napping age a mat and blanket.  We will have a quiet time every afternoon, so that younger children may rest.  Older children will be provided quiet activities like books, puzzles, crafts and movies during this time.

I serve meals and snacks based on USDA guidelines.  I provide healthy snacks and meals, but also the occasional treat or goody.  I will be serving milk, wheat, peanut and soy products in my home, so it is very important that parents provide accurate and up-to-date allergy information for their child.

*Please see Meal Calendar

*Above is just part of my Policies and Procedures handbook.  The handbook, in it’s entirety,  will be provided to the parents of each child in care, before any child care agreements are made.
